The Friendswood Development Company Team
Brian Gibson serves as a Community Development Manager for Friendswood Development Company. Brian joined Friendswood Development Company in August of 2003 as a project manager. While attending The University of Houston, he worked as a project manager in the civil engineering field. Brian graduated from The University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer licensed in the State of Texas. Brian has been married to his wife Kathy for 22 years and enjoys whatever his three daughters want to do!
Christopher serves as an Acquisitions Analyst for Friendswood Development Company. He has a B.A. from Lehigh University in International Relations and an M.B.A with a focus in real estate and finance from the University of Houston. Prior to joining FDC, Chris was a sales person for Camden Property Trust and a Rotational Analyst for USAA Real Estate.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys refereeing youth soccer, travel, sporting clays, and board games.
Colleen currently serves as Contract Manager and Tax Analyst for Friendswood Development Company. A Nebraska native, Colleen pursued a design degree at University of Nebraska and earned her BBA in Accounting from University of Houston. Prior to joining Friendswood in 2006, Colleen spent ten years as an accountant in the oil and gas industry and custom homebuilding industry. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and time with family and friends.
Ethan graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and joined Friendswood Development Company in June 2014 as a Project Manager. While at Texas A&M, he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Ross Volunteer Company, as well as a Terry Foundation Scholar. He is actively involved in several non-profit Christian organizations.
Jeb joined the Friendswood team in 2014 with experience in design and development projects within several market sectors. He holds degrees in civil and structural engineering, both from Texas A&M University, is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas, and is a LEED accredited professional for new building design and construction. He loves spending time outdoors with his family, traveling, and international relief work.
John Hammond is a proven land development veteran with over 30 years of experience in the Texas, Virginia and Maryland markets. John started his real estate career with Friendswood as an Acquisitions Manager and has led the company as President since 2002. As President, Mr. Hammond leads a team of experience professionals responsible for the acquisition, entitlement, planning, conceptual design, engineering, construction and marketing of Friendswood’s portfolio of communities.
Prior to joining Friendswood, Hammond served as Project Manager for H. B. Zachry Company where he worked on several large scale petrochemical facilities in Texas and Mississippi.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, his Professional Engineer’s license from the State of Texas, and an Masters in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. More recently, John has taken his 30 plus years of real estate experience to the classroom at the University of Houston. He serves as an adjunct professor in the Bauer College of Business Graduate Real Estate Program.
Leticia Torres has proudly served Friendswood Development Company since 2005. In this time she has assumed many roles such as: filing clerk, receptionist, and accounting clerk. As of 2015, Letty was promoted to Project Administrator where she will face great challenges and gain new experience, something she’s looking forward to. Leticia enjoys cooking, shopping and spending time with her family.
Margaret currently serves as Project Administrator for Friendswood Development Company. Margaret worked for Lennar Homes for two years and then transferred to FDC in 2003 as a Job Cost Analyst. She loves to reconcile accounts, recover Mud receivables, and working with all the project managers. Margaret enjoys traveling, crafts, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and pets.
Michael currently serves as Senior Acquisitions Manager and Marketing Director for Friendswood Development Company. A Houston native, Michael has worked for FDC since 2007. He is an active member of GHBA’s Young Professionals and a Young Leader for ULI Houston. He has a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Houston.
Monica Vega-Duffield - Acquisitions Planning Assistant and Executive Assistant to the Division President for Friendswood Development Company since 2003. She is a Houston native and is an active volunteer for Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Clinic, Lennar Special Olympics' Program and Houston Ronald McDonald House.
She joined FDC in 1984 and had various accounting assignments prior to being named Controller in 1996 . Nan has a BS degree in Accounting from Iowa State University, a MBA from the University of Houston, and a CPA with the State of Texas. She is originally from Michigan and enjoys traveling to visit family and friends around the U.S and spending time with her children and grandson.
Robert began his career in land development in early 2013, joining Friendswood as an Acquisitions Manager. Born and raised in College Station, he completed degrees in Urban Planning and Land and Property Development at Texas A&M before moving to the big city. Robert's free time often consists of carpentry projects, running with his lab, outdoor adventures, and serving at his church.
Sawyer joined the Friendswood Development Company team as Senior Acquisitions Manager in 2012. Prior to joining Friendswood, Sawyer spent 8 years at Pulte Homes in the Land Division and 3 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an Audit Associate. A native of Katy, he graduated from Florida State University with a BBA in Accounting and from University of Texas with a Masters of Accounting. Sawyer stays busy with his 3 children and keeping up with the Florida State football team.
Tara serves as ARC Administrative Coordinator for Friendswood Development Company. She has resided in Houston since 2000, and has worked with Friendswood Development Company and Lennar Homes since 2004. Tara graduated from Lonestar College-North Harris in 2012 with an Associate in Arts (AA). She is still pursuing her Bachelor's in Arts (BA) in Criminal Justice. She is married and has two boys, who she enjoys spending all of her time with.
Veronica Vega-Capistran has served as a Land Development Administrative Assistant for Friendswood Development Company since 2006. Veronica works closely with the project managers coordinating and overseeing all steps of the contract process. Born and raised in Houston, Veronica is actively involved in her church community. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends outdoors.
