Tavola is happy to announce that the community's popular Tavola Reindeer Run 5k/1K Family Fun Run will return on December 4, 2021. After the pandemic caused the race to be cancelled in 2020, this will be the fifth year for this fun holiday race.

The 5K race starts at 8 am and the 1K Family Run/Walk starts at 9 am. The post race celebration, which includes visits with Santa Claus, free gourmet treats and hot drinks, continues until noon. Everyone who registers for the race will receive a long sleeve race t-shirt, goodie bag and finisher medal. There will be $100 cash awards for the top overall male and female finishers, plus age group awards for the top three in each age group. There will be a costume contest, with a $100 award for most festive holiday costume.

Proceeds from the race benefit Tavola Elementary School. In 2019, the race presented the school with $7,500.

The race is under new management for 2021. Fowlkes Events, which produces the Woodlands Marathon and Texas 10 Series, will be managing the Tavola Reindeer Run.
