The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) announced the 2020 Star Awards winners on July 23 and Friendswood Development Company was honored with two Star Awards.

The Falls at Green Meadows was named Best Overall Community, 51-299 acres for 2020. Falls at Green Meadows is a new home community that is the site of the former Green Meadows Golf Course in Katy, Texas. This beautiful piece of property was home to many mature trees which the developer was careful to maintain. Zoned to the highly sought-after Katy High School, Falls at Green Meadows is amenity rich with an impressive central recreation center with resort-style pool, furnished clubhouse with kitchen, trails throughout the community, playgrounds and parks, lakes and more.

TAB also awarded Friendswood Development Company for Best Direct Mail - Developer for the Fulton Station “Enjoy Dinner on Us” postcard campaign. This promotion offered potential home buyers the opportunity to tour this new in town neighborhood and receive a gift card to purchase dinner and to receive a $1000 METRO Fare Card when they purchased in the community for a limited time.This postcard jumped started sales in this new, urban townhome community situated on Houston Metrorail line with a station stop.

This year marked the first time in program history that the presentation of awards was revealed virtually via Zoom. The show moved to a virtual event after the Sunbelt Builders Show™ was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Star Awards are given annually to recognize excellence in all areas of the homebuilding industry, these awards are highly coveted within the industry.

In 1992, TAB launched the Star Awards – the only statewide tribute to excellence in the homebuilding industry. The annual competition showcased the outstanding work of builders, remodelers, architects, designers, and sales, marketing, and construction professionals in Texas.
