Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Friendswood Development Company is one of the oldest and most respected residential community development companies in Houston, Texas. We are seeking experienced Civil Engineering professionals (5+ yrs. experience) to help lead the design, planning, and construction of some of our larger master-planned communities.
Our Project Managers lead a multi-disciplinary team to design and construct first-class residential communities throughout the Houston metro area. These communities range from suburban master-planned communities to urban in-fill neighborhoods. We are looking for candidates who have the leadership, management, creativity, and communication skills to work alongside the wide array of design and financial consultants and government representatives we interact with on a daily basis.
As one of our Project Managers, you gain invaluable experience by directing the "whole job.” You quickly become a valued member of a cross-functional team and participate in the planning, designing, estimating, scheduling, supervising, and commissioning of complete facilities in a timely, safe, and quality-controlled manner. This includes reviewing and approving engineering, surveying, architectural, and infrastructure design; establishing and stewarding construction budgets; coordinating construction activities; platting and acceptance of utilities and roadway infrastructure; and utility district interface and management.
Other opportunities include the design and construction of park facilities, landscaping, lakes, entry monuments, and greenbelt trail systems. The Project Manager must possess the ability to confidently interact with professional engineers, registered architects, contractors, and city and county inspectors to solve problems that may arise.
This is an exciting, hands-on position, allowing you to help create, design, and build entire communities. Most of your time will be evenly distributed at the Friendswood Development office, in the field coordinating construction activities, and meeting with various architectural, engineering, financial, law, and construction consultants.
