Friendswood Development Company Launches Discovery New Home Tour Across Greater Houston

Friendswood Development Company, which is best known for developing some of Houston’s signature master-planned communities including Fairfield and Kingwood, will launch its Discovery New Home Tour beginning March 15-April 15, 2019. The home tour is a city-wide invitation for prospective homebuyers to visit 27 communities, where homes start in the high $100s. Friendswood has attracted some of the country’s most celebrated homebuilders who are represented by 85 fully-furnished model homes, and the Home Tour is an opportunity for the public to experience the many options and price points that exist for all types of buyers seeking new construction. Each model home will have a drawing box with a register-to-win opportunity; the winner will be awarded a $5,000 cash prize.

Though most of Friendswood’s communities exist outside of Harris County, the developer has recently expanded its growing portfolio by investing in two- and three-story gated townhome communities near CityCentre, Oak Forest, and The Heights. Known as “Urban Life by Lennar,” these communities are tailored for families and working professionals who favor a more urban, close-to-everything-type lifestyle. Fulton Station, for example, is situated 2.5 miles from Downtown Houston and provides its residents with immediate access to the METRORail system.

As part of the month-long tour, the developer will host family-friendly “Burgers & Brews” events in three of its master-planned communities: (1) Woodtrace in Pinehust, TX on Saturday, March 23; (2) Kingwood Royal Brook in Kingwood, TX on Saturday, April 6; and (3) Falls at Green Meadows in Katy, TX on Saturday, April 13. Each event will be free to the public and feature The Burger Joint food truck; live entertainment by country artists Aubrie Lynn, Wes Nickson, and Brian Sacco; a selection of craft beer; as well as games and activities for kids, including a bungee tramp and bounce house.

“We are proud of our 57-year legacy and continue to develop communities for generations across the entire Houston region. Discovery New Home Tour is a reflection of our core values because it showcases our commitment to one of life’s most important decisions: a new home purchase in a successful community,” says Michael W. Johnson, Vice President of Friendswood Development Company. “Even if you’re not looking to move in the immediate future, we encourage you to visit any of our developments and model homes, join us for our free Burgers & Brews events, and see for yourself what your next move may look like,” he added.
