Host a Christmas Cookie Swap for the Neighborhood

Moving into a new community is fun and exciting, however the prospect of getting to know you’re new neighbors might seem a little much. Break the ice this holiday season with a Christmas cookie swap!
Invite around eight neighbors to bring two dozen cookies and copies of their recipe. One dozen is for eating at the party, the other is for guests to take home. Get some plain “to-go” boxes, large holiday cupcake wrappers, ribbons, and tags to create attractive take home cookie assortments.
First send out the invitations about four weeks in advance, so your neighbors have time to plan. Second, choose your cookie recipe and print out copies for your guests on attractive recipe cards. Third create a station for cookies with each platter labeled with the guest’s name and type of cookie. For, example “Sugar Cookies baked by Shannon”. Fourth, set up a packaging station with the boxes, ribbons, cupcake wrappers, tags and other supplies so guests can decorate their cookie boxes to take home. Before your guests arrive make sure to have plenty of coffee and tea brewed.
